Cannot use \\computer\c$ Share
Hello, from my Vista machine I cannot connect to the \\computer\c$ share on my Windows 7 RC machine. All the time I get error user name or password incorrect. I can see the C$ is in fact shared via the "net share" command. I have disabled Windows Firewall but I still can't use it. What do I have to do in order to use the share? /Klaus

Assuming that you're not dealing with machines in a domain, the account you are using on the Vista machine has to have an indetically named account (with the same password) that has admin rights on the Windows 7 RC machine.

Thanks for the answer. The Windows 7 machine is not member of a domain. The Vista machine is a domain member. But still, sorry, I don't understand you. I do not want to just open up \\computer\c$ as a normal user, I do want to access it as an administrator so I am prepared to type in the administrator's password in the dialog that pops up when I type in \\computer\c$. But the password is not accepted I get the login dialog over and over again.

When it prompts you for the username, try entering the name of the machine followed by a backslash then the username, for example, Machine01\Administrator
